Introduction

The charming two-hundred-year old Ferencovi farm is the centre of hospitality in the village. The farm offers seven air-conditioned rooms with extra beds and TV sets available if required, amounting to a capacity of 30 overnights guests.

The tiny village of Krašči has its own fruit--drying facility, a sawmill, local shops, pubs and restaurants as well as a hairdresser's saloon. Nerby, in the midst of green hills of western Goričko, is a lake called Ledavsko jezero, the water of whitch brings to life lush vegetation that surrounds the lake and is home to rich fauna. Experiencing this richness of life and inner inspiration, curious visitors will no doubt find a piece of unspoilt world.

  

The Ferencovi family love pampering their guests with two tennis courts, a lawn for ball sports and a large open space area for various group activities (for preschool and school childreen as well as other groups). The grape vine trellis offers a magnificient view of the nearby lake which is excellent for fishing, boating or nature watching, especially for frequent sights of otters.

The Goričko region is excellent for exploring on bikes which are available for rental at the Ferencov farm. The famous 365-room Grad mansion is just a short ride away (6 km) as are other popular cycling destinations, for example: the meeting point of three national borders (11 km), Sotina viewing tower (7 km) which is the highest peak in the Pomurje region, and the "Fuks graba" educational trail (4 km) where special fox-shaped signs guide you through the forest. Should you want to swim, there are several nearby spas available. And if you bring a blanket, you can enjoy the sun and watch the clouds in the sky or gaze at the moon and stars at night...

The Ferencovi farm is especially renowned for their decorative and functional products made of straw or corhusks and their intricate designs decorates many homes.

  

The Ferencovi farm is not only an outdoor museum but also a learning centre for everyone who wishes to learn the ancient tradition of straw-roofing.

Apart from farming and providing tourist service, the family keep a collection of farms tools and machinery, many of which are protected and declared as cultural and technical heritage, which bring the old days back to life.

Visitors are also entertained by a range of cultural and ethnological events where they can learn how to make wicker baskets and crepe paper flowers or how to prepare traditional local dishes. By special arrangement, visitors can also observe a skilful potter making various clay products.
